In 2002 I became the first Bangladeshi to be selected for the World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass in the Netherlands. In 2004 I received the Young Reporters Award from the Scope Photo Festival in Paris — once again, the first Bangladeshi to receive this honour. In 2005 I was awarded "Best of Show" at the Center for Fine Art Photography's international competition in Colorado, USA. And in 2006 I was awarded World Press Photo award and released my premier book "First Light". In 2007 I became the first Bangladeshi to be selected for the 30 Emerging Photographers (PDN 30), sponsored by Photo District News Magazine, USA. I was one of the speakers in the fifth Global Investigative Journalism Conference, held at Lillehammer, Norway in 2008 and as well I was the first Bangladeshi in Ted talk at TEDxOporto 2011, in Portugal. I was one of the speaker of "7th Forum of Emerging Leaders in Asian Journalism", Yogyakarta / Indonesia". In 2011 Nikon has selected me as one of the 8 influencers in Asia pacific (APAC region). Along with guest master photographers, I am teaching photography in workshops and seminars for aspiring young photographers at reasonable tuition. The proceeds from this are to help achieve my ultimate objective of providing basic education for street children, child sex workers, and child laborers.

I started studying this art and techniques, firstly in Bangladesh and then continued my studies in the Philippines at Ateneo de Manila University did my Diploma in Multimedia Journalism. Growing up in a developing country filled with millions of impoverished people and abused children, I had access to the darkest corners of the world. Overwhelmed with compassion and empathy for those people in my photographs, I was determined to give a voice to the voiceless and have it heard around the world. However, at one point I realized that just effectively reporting the human rights injustices through my images was not enough. I repeatedly asked myself then; what changes have my photos brought to the lives of my subjects of abuse and suffering? I knew that as a photojournalist that it was my duty to tell the truth but besides that, as a human being I believed that it was my moral duty to find ways to alleviate the pain of abuse and poverty of those people in my photographs.

It was at that time that I decided to dedicate myself to what became more than 10 years of my life to photographing 'Survivors'. This resulted in a self-published photography book depicting the invincibility of the human spirit to survive against all odds. The proceeds from the book and subsequent exhibitions go to helping the subjects in that book set up small businesses for which I train them and monitor their progress in order to make them and their families self-sufficient".

In the meantime, I completed study multimedia graphics in the 'Active Art Study of Theater and Film Techniques' and photography in the 'European Academy of Photography' in Warsaw. My photography is a combination of grays and emotions. In 2011, I set my goal in photography that I will only practice and develop in black and white. I deal mainly reportage and document, I like it. And I hate posed photos. To this day, I had two solo exhibitions in Warsaw (Poland). My dream is to show my photos in the U.S. and Japan.
Most of my photographic awards (including 3rd place as the Deeper Perspective Photographer of the Year + over a dozen podium places in contests around the world) are associated with perhaps the biggest music festival in the world where in 2011 were over one million people: Woodstock Festival in Poland. In 2015, I documented the festival for the fifth time. It was to be the last time, but I think this year also I will take the camera. It works like a magnet.
In March 2013, I started with my new project: Vieworld Photo Magazine. Vieworld focuses on documentary photography, street and photo series shown in grayscale. This project really made me developing, and a few thousand readers is a beautiful thing together with it!"

"I discovered photography in 2008 and decided to make it my main work. Before that I never pressed the shutter of an SLR... I was wrong: shooting a good photo is a pleasurable moment. As soon as I have time I go hunting moments. . I am especially attracted by shooting strangers. But sometimes, when I have no choice, I shoot nature or event. The more I improve my work, the harder it is to produce good pictures ; but as long as we improve, the desire to go on remains. I shoot people to keep myself happy, if you like it that's a nice by-product".

"I’m 37 and I live in Amiens, Somme, France. I have a Phd in human physiology and I work in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. I have been practicing photography for 3 years now, although I fell into the cauldron when I was a child: my dad is now a retired photographer. So here’s how I grew up, with the smell of chemicals, the shutter snap or the purr of his roller transport print processor... Though photography has become a passion for only two years. I then felt the need to create, to express myself.
I like to capture the fleeting, the subtle, the beautiful, the rare, the spectacular, the staggering… to reveal how the daily and the ordinary can be filled with enthusiasm. My work is very heterogeneous. I use and associate many photographic techniques (DRI, HDR, panoramic, vertorama, long exposure…), image renditions (color, B&W, infrared…) and different themes (landscape, macro, light-painting, architecture, industry…). What’s common is maybe the visual rendition: I like sharp constrasts (light and colors) and dense outcomes".

Tampa/St. Petersburg Florida Area based professional Photographer specializing in commercial, car and event photography. Has worked in Asia for nine years. He travelled taking pictures many countries, South Korea, to Japan, to Thailand, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Vietnam and New Zealand before finally ending up back in Japan. The why part of photography for he is all about the moment. Perfection only lasts for a single instant, it is against logic for it to last any longer. However, that perfect instant can live long in one’s memory. Photography is a means to make this perfect instant tangible, and a bit more permanent.
